TANTAS VECES SUBESTIMADO?

Tantas veces subestimado?

Desde que Andrés Manuel López Obrador se convirtió en candidato a la presidencia de México, el gobierno de Vicente Fox ha subestimado su voluntad política. A más de un año del primer atentado contra el proyecto económico de López Obrador, a Fox se le unieron Felipe Calderón y su partido político, el Consejo Coordinador Empresarial, Luís Carlos Ugalde del Instituto Federal Electoral y recientemente el Tribunal Electoral del Poder Judicial de la Federación.
La coyuntura política de México es tan clara como el agua. Cuanto más subestiman a López Obrador, más lo energizan; y cuanto más energizado éste se encuentra, mayor es el apoyo que recibe de sus bases sociales.
Este hecho fue patentizado por el proceso de desafuero que el gobierno panista de Fox buscó para evitar que López Obrador consiga, por lo menos, la candidatura de su partido para la presidencia de su país. Como todos sabemos el intento fue fallido, nunca existió fundamentos legales para alejarlo de las casillas electorales y se notó que hubo una conspicua manipulación política por parte del gobierno.
López Obrador, en consecuencia, fue absuelto de toda culpa, pero Fox y los suyos terminaron con una estocada en plena yugular.
Como un “zorro” que se refugia en su escondite cuando es perseguido por la jauría de un cazador, Fox también empezó a depender de Los Pinos –a manera del presidencialismo corrupto de los gobierno prisitas— para extenuar el vigor de López Obrador. Desde allí Fox marcó la pauta, incitando a sus colaboradores del sector empresarial para que utilicen sus potentados dólares con el fin de propagar malas noticias en torno a la capacidad de gobernar de su contrincante.
¿Qué le pasaría a México si el “Peje” llegara a la presidencia?, eran una de las frecuentes conjeturas que los opositores de López Obrador publicaban en la televisión y en los medios de comunicación escrita. La respuesta era simple, sin fundamentos, pero alcanzó con bastante éxito a aquellos sectores que todavía no habían decidido por quien votar.
A pocas horas de las elecciones presidenciales del pasado mes, Fox pensó que tenía a su contrincante tendido y moribundo en el cuadrilátero político. Sin embargo, éste nuevamente volvió a levantarse, aunque esta vez tambaleante y herido a muerte, pero con la firme convicción de que un sector de la población mexicana estaba allí para otorgarle su apoyo, incluso a dar su vida por su proyecto político.
Hoy, López Obrador está reestablecido y reenergizado, pero se parece más al sub-comandante Marcos que a Lula da Silva de Brasil, con quién académicos especialistas lo comparaban. Probablemente los ideales de López Obrador, como el cambio de modelo ortodoxo neoliberal a una economía mixta y la conclusión a un proceso de privatizaciones, todavía no han cambiado. No obstante, la forma cómo realizar esos ideales ya no son las mismas.
Irónicamente, Vicente Fox terminó con radicalizar a un colega suyo que sólo buscaba “El Bien de Todos” los mexicanos y no la migaja impura que normalmente terminan por agarrar los más pobres de este país.
Como el “Peje”, las bases sociales de su partido político también terminaron por radicalizarse. A ellos lo único que les queda es su dignidad y una anticipada revisión de sus votos, como ellos dicen: “Casilla por casilla”.
Es probable que los jueces del Tribunal Electoral del Poder Judicial de la Federación actuaron conforme a la ley. Su capacidad de evaluación fue determinada por los preceptos legales de la federación mexicana que no permiten el inmediato recuento de voto por poto, tal como López Obrador y la bandada perredista lo solicitan.
De todos modos, esta historia todavía esta inconclusa. Mucha gente se olvida que la presidencia de México y de cualquier país democrático, las instituciones representativas, el sistema judicial, entre otros, son respuestas a la intensa pugna de diversos grupos de interés que se enfrentan en la sociedad civil.
El gobierno de Fox tampoco entiende que López Obrador representa el movimiento legítimo de una generación de ciudadanos que busca insertarse y reivindicar sus derechos políticos y económicos. Estas bases sociales se resienten y agitan al resto de la población cuando atacan a su líder. El resultado puede tener consecuencias irreparables para el pueblo de México. Esperemos que eso no suceda.
Many times underestimated?

Ever since Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador turned into a presidential candidate of Mexico, the government of Vicente Fox has underestimated his political will. More than a year ago against the first attempt against the economic project of Lopez Obrador, Fox was aided by Felipe Calderon and his political party, Enterprise Council Coordinator, Luis Carlos Ugalde of the Federal Electoral Institute and recently the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation.
The political conjuncture of Mexico is clear like water. How many more underestimate Lopez Obrador? The more they give him energy and the more energized he finds himself and the more support he receives from his social bases.
The fact that he was patented for the process of the violation that the PAN government of Fox looked for in order to avoid Lopez Obrador obtaining at least the candidacy of his party for the presidency of his country. As we all know the attempt failed, legal fundamentals never existed in order to move him away from the electoral squares and it was noted that there was a conspicuous political manipulation on behave of the government.
Lopez Obrador, consequently, was acquitted of all faults, but Fox and his aids ended with a jugular thrust.
Like a “fox” that shelters himself in a hideout when he is followed by the pack of the hunter, Fox also depended on Los Pinos- a way of presidential corruptness of the PRI government-in order to debilitate the power of Lopez Obrador. From then on, Fox marked the guideline, urging his collaborators of the enterprise sector to utilize their potential dollars with the purpose of propagating bad reviews in turn to the capacity of his opponent’s way of governing.
What would happen to Mexico if the “Peje” took over office, were some of the frequent conjectures of Lopez Obrador’s opponents that were given out in television or through the written media. The response was simple, without fundamentals, but reached a lot of success from those sectors that had not decided yet on who to vote for.
A couple of hours before the presidential elections last month, Fox thought that his opponent was shy and vague on the political field. However, this one stood strong and with a firm conviction of a sector of the Mexican community was there to offer him support and even give their life for his political project.
Today, Lopez Obrador is reestablished and reenergized, but looks more like Sub-Commander Marcos that of Lula da Silva de Brasil, who academic specialists compared him to. Probably the idealists of Lopez Obrador like in turn of the orthodox model a neo-liberal to a mix economy and a conclusion to a process of privatizations have not changed yet. Nonetheless the ways to perform these ideals are not the same.
Ironically, Vicente Fox ended with radicalizing a colleague whom only was in search of “Good for Everyone” the Mexicans and not the garbage that normally ends by taking the poorest of this country.
Like el “Peje” the social bases of his political party also ended radically. To them the only thing that is left is their dignity and an anticipated revision of their votes, like they say: “Electoral square by electoral square”.
It is probable that the judges of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation acted upon the law. Their capacity of evaluation was determined by the legal rules of the Mexican federation that does not permit the immediate recount each individual vote, such as Lopez Obrador and the group of PRD’s solicited it.
Anyways, this history is not concluded. A lot of people forget the presidency of Mexico and any other democratic country, the representative institutions, the judicial system, among others are the answers to the intense struggles of the diverse interest groups that confront the civil society.
Not even the government of Fox understands that Lopez Obrador represents that legit movement of a generation of citizens that look to be inserted and vindicate their political and economic rights. These social bases resist and agitate the rest of society when they attack their leader. The result can have irreparable consequences for population of Mexico. We hope this does not happen.
